C-chat told me to.
Okay so.
TV Tropes Meme.
(or Mike's incredible failure of one)
WHAT HAPPENS:
1) You post your character(s) here. And if you feel like it, some of the tropes that apply to them.
2) Other people will comment to your post stating tropes they feel apply to your character(s). (or also apply, if you listed any yourself.)
3) Discuss. (or not.)
4) And maybe learn something about some of the characters you've been playing with. (or not.)
5) And TRY not to get sucked in. (futile futile fu~tile~.)
6) I'm just adding extra steps so we have more than three steps to this thing.

Mirys Hargrave [1/3]
Alternate Timeline (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AlternateTimeline): Mirys's background is basically this, having split off from PSO's canon storyline immediately after the end of Episode 1 and going in an entirely different direction. It involves a conspiracy surrounding the disappearance of Hunters who had participated in the initial investigation of Ragol and the Pioneer-One incident, to the point where even family members of these missing Hunters are being targeted as threats to an unknown organization of some kind. Mirys herself is the daughter of two such missing Hunters (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ParentalAbandonment), so...yeah.
Black Magician Girl (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BlackMagicianGirl)/Child Mage (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChildMage): Mirys is a girl. And extremely young despite looking in her mid-teens. And can throw ice and lightning—among other things—at you without a second thought. She's also a bit on the frail side (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GlassCannon).
Bounty Hunter (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BountyHunter): This is how Mirys tried to make a living for herself after her parents vanished, before things got really ugly for her.
Closet Geek (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ClosetGeek): Sort of. Mirys has an interest in both robotics and the research of Techniques, her canon's form of magic. She doesn't actively try to hide these interests, but simply never calls attention to them without prior prompting somehow either.
Don't You Dare Pity Me (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Ptitleoe7myb9t): To anyone who actually manages to learn (or at least get a rough idea) of her rough past, this is what they'll usually get if Mirys thinks they're feeling sorry for her because of it.
[2/3]
Friendless Background (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FriendlessBackground): Considering how her life turned out so far, it wouldn't be wrong to think that Mirys never actually had the time to even make any friends. Any fellow Hunters she worked in the past with don't count either, as the majority of them turned against her after it was found that someone had placed a bounty on her.
Good Is Not Nice (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GoodIsNotNice): It comes naturally with her former occupation.
Ice Queen (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IceQueen)/Defrosting Ice Queen (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DefrostingIceQueen): Mirys is a jaded and cynical jerkass (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Jerkass), although she really means well sometimes (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JerkWithAHeartOfGold). Part of it is because life gave her the finger (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DarkAndTroubledPast) and she'd be damned if she didn't return the favor, and part of it is because she doesn't really want people to suffer just by knowing her on a personal level. To anyone who befriends her (or consistently attempts to do so despite attempts to push them away), she doesn't really lose the jerk attitude ever, but she does start gradually acting nicer to an extent.
[3/3]
Pettanko (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Pettanko): Almost, but not quite.
You Gotta Have Blue Hair (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/YouGottaHaveBlueHair): High-saturation sky-blue, to be exact.
Younger Than They Look (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/YoungerThanTheyLook): She looks and acts like she could be sixteen, but she's really seven. This is actually a common trait of her race in most parts of the entire Phantasy Star franchise, and yes, it means Sah'ot is a pedophile whether he's aware of it or not (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Squick).
Akakias
New Meat: (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NewMeat) Her role in the squad. Perpetually.
Big Brother Complex: (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BigBrotherComplex) Attached as handlers to the girls. They are rewarded with status and the chance to ogle them in their underwear. It's all as skeevy as it sounds. She still refers to most men on the ship by a term that means 'big brother'.
Big Brother is watching: (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BigBrotherIsWatching) Combined with the above.
Star System: (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/StarSystem) A rare in-universe example: the individual members of the Sacred Band are disposable, but they always form squads of five, with each in a predetermined physical and social role.
Powered Armor (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PoweredArmor): A steampunk version.
Fantasy Counterpart Culture: (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FantasyCounterpartCulture) Agihathara is a mashup of ancient Greece and modern day Otaku culture (Agihathara=Akihabara).
Dropped a Bridget on him (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DroppedABridgetOnHim): Reno didn't seem to mind though.
Sah'ot
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/UpliftedAnimal Trope namer
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HotSkittyOnWailordAction Seriously. I just won't get into detail about this, but this is the final reason why he can never get what he wants.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MagicalNegro Intentional on his part as he is a pathological suckup to humans. Let him impart to you some helpful dolphin wisdom!
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PetTheDog Ok, he's not a complete dick. He does watch over Mary while she's swimming. No, not like that.
Sajit
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Sidekick Is this to Elloran too.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChildSoldiers Formerly this. That's even what they call them.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AFatherToHisMen Just to Hiccup, and a bit of an awkward one at that, but he tries.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ScoreAndMusicTropes His job is to provide all of them, at appropriate times, to Elloran. Basically he follows him around and provides BGM at the right moments.
Sheeana
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TrueArtIsOffensive Holds this view.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DarkAndTroubledPast and http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BrokenBird Born in a dirt poor village on Dune. Saw it eaten by a worm at age 8. Screamed for worm to kill her too, but instead found she could command it. Taken in by Arrakis Priesthood, named their chosen one. Age 12, survives an assasination attempt, is spirited off Dune by the Bene Gesserit just before it's blown up. Spends the next several years training to become a Reverend Mother and "being mother to worms that may never come". Set up to be an ideal mate for Duncan Idaho, sees him instead fall into lust with another woman, has unresolved feelings for him throughout until she can finally escape Chapterhouse. To this day has unresolved issues sorrounding her childhood.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main.DeusSexMachina Specialist in Sexual Imprinting, where at the moment of orgasm, the victim is reprogrammed like the Manchurian Candidate.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SlapSlapKiss Her relationship with Cain may be building up to this, if they ever get past the slap part.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BiTheWay
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BondCreatures The worms. Her relationship to them is much more ambiguous than most uses of this trope.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheMessiah Set up for this role by the Missionaria Protectiva, until she ran away from it.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CompellingVoice Another specialty.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChildrenRaiseYou Slowly becoming less resentful and more mature by teaching Mary.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheVamp Part of her role. The BG use people like her to control dangerous demagogues and potential tyrants though, so they're not the villains.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BecauseDestinySaysSo May or may not apply as she is unsure how much of her life was planned by the Golden Path. It's one of her major sources of angst. Will also do anything to prevent this from applying to the rest of the multiverse.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MentalFusion Sharing, most recently with Alia.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BlackAndGrayMorality Absolutely devoted to a complex ideal of a free, democratic and dynamic humanity and willing to carry out ethically reprehensible acts to make it so.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DeadGuyJunior Named for Siona, her ancestor. A priest comments on their resemblance.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KidWithTheLeash Inverted: She follows an ideal formed by the man who would later become the critter on the leash while he was alive.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DuelOfSeduction A regular Errol Flynn.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LastOfHisKind Until meeting Alia, was the last Fremen
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SandWorm Of course.
Maryweather Hargreaves | Godchild (Now with proper titling orz)
Naive Everygirl (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NaiveEverygirl): Changing rather rapidly here, but Mary is basically still this at heart. She's naive and insecure, and also bad at being polite, sometimes.
Hair Trigger Temper (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HairTriggerTemper): Somewhat subverted in that she's ten, but Mary's got a pretty short temper.
Dying Declaration of Love (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DyingDeclarationOfLove) with a healthy dose of Love Hurts (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LoveHurts): This happens to Mary A LOT. Usually, they actually give said declarations to Cain, and ask him never to tell her, though.
Plucky Girl (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PluckyGirl): This is actually partly Cain's fault. In trying to keep her out of danger, Mary often finds ways to do just that, usually only managing to escape by the skin of her teeth because of his intervention.
There are probably a crapton more, but I have other characters to do this for, so other people can add some /shot
Gauron | Full Metal Panic!
Almighty Janitor (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AlmightyJanitor): He only does responsibility on his own terms, he hates politics, and he prefers to remain nominally low-ranked (despite his unparalleled capacity to get shit done when I actually have the time to play him orz) so as to avoid inconvenient levels of attention. He does this in his canon too - he's rich enough to buy himself an African nation to retire to as dictator-for-life, but he really prefers being out there in the trenches.
Chaotic Evil (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChaoticEvil): Though his actions come off as more Neutral Evil, at heart, he's really this - even though he's nominally an agent of the Fay'lians working to destroy the revolution, he's actually going to be using the revolution to fuck with the Fay'lians and vice versa.
Depraved Bisexual (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DepravedBisexual)/Memetic Molester (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MemeticMolester): He's primarily child-soldier-sexual, but he'll raep anything once. See also Nightmare Fetishist. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NightmareFetishist)
Irony (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Irony): He is made of it - hence this being his main journal. :P
Interplay of Sex and Violence (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/InterplayOfSexAndViolence)
Nietzsche Wannabe (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NietzscheWannabe): His nihilism is the gleefully insane kind, though, not the emo kind. Also why he believes that justice is a petty platitude and self-justification is a sign of cowardice.
Psycho For Hire (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PsychoForHire): Like I mentioned, his favorite place to be on the battlefield is down in the trenches, slitting throats - he'll do crazy, seemingly suicidal shit and enjoy it. Also, on this, the first mission where the Fay'lians have really let him off his leash, he is promptly backstabbing them, though with a lot more subtlety than he usually uses.
Smug Snake (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SmugSnake): His contempt for the Fay'lians is matched only by his contempt for the revolution, which is why he's using them both to fuck with each other. He also believes that his nihilistic and amoral personal philosophy is 100% objectively correct, and he isn't afraid to be a dick about it when the situation calls for it. Unlike most Smug Snakes, he doesn't actually care that much if his plans fail, though - he'll just extract himself from the situation and live to fuck with people another day. And if he doesn't? Well, he's lived a lot longer and done a lot more than he ever thought he was going to - at this point, everything is just gravy.
The Unfettered (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheUnfettered): The only things that come close to mattering to Gauron are freedom and truth - not like that "American way" sparkly idealism, but as ugly, harsh, and inescapable realities that he's either going to make you embrace or break you with. Though, he's going to be more subtle about that in the game than he was in canon.

he hasn't pulled it in game yetwait no, he survived terminal cancer thanks to the medical improvements the Fay'lians granted him access to, and he's probably had one or two more while he was working for them.no subject
Incompatible Orientation (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IncompatibleOrientation) - He's pretty straight, not that Sandoval cares.
A Date with Rosie Palms (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ADateWithRosiePalms) - A LOT.
Slave Brand (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SlaveBrand) - Well, a brand and/or tattoo on his upper left chest in the shape of an eye? We aren't really told why it's there though. I'm just going to assume.
Only Sane Man (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OnlySaneMan) - Well, at least in his previous world.

Kai-Ri-Lin
Dystopia (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Dystopia): Kai's homeworld. Basically, everything is sparkles and rainbows until you realize that the government (several of them, though Kai is unaware that this practice reaches beyond his home area) is basically just plucking up whoever they want to try and turn them into perfect soldiers. Thereby, also a variant of Crapsack World (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CrapsackWorld) fits.
Darkness Induced Audience Apathy (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DarknessInducedAudienceApathy): As exhibited by Kai when he was kidnapped on Bhor. He was surprised by her nigh thoughtlessly violent actions, but not bothered by them.
Despair Event Horizon (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DespairEventHorizon): Kai actually thought they were just going to dispose of him when he was branded a failure.
Power At a Price (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PowerAtAPrice): Pretty straightforward. Would you want to be stuck listening to everyone's thoughts forever and ever? He currently considers himself to be quite Blessed with Suck (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BlessedWithSuck).
It Got Worse (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ItGotWorse): Usually, what's on Kai's mind when he does something stupid is "How much worse can it be than it already is?" The results are obvious.
Think Happy Thoughts (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ThinkHappyThoughts): Kias is currently Kai's Happy Thoughts. Otherwise, all that time in a medbay? Not so awesome.
Mismatched Eyes (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MismatchedEyes): Kai's are violet and green, and an effect of the genetic mutations.
You Gotta Have Blue Hair (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/YouGottaHaveBlueHair): Kai's is teal, and an effect of the genetic mutations.
Character Tics (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CharacterTics): Not much seen yet, but Kai does have a tendency to stare when he hears a particularly interesting thought, or something odd in relation to someone's thoughts.
I Am What I Am (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IAmWhatIAm): Kai's pretty much comfortable with what he is by now, since there's no changing it.
Not So Weak (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NotSoWeak): Not seen yet. Kai does have a certain amount of physical training under his belt, from before the experiments. God help the enemy if something happens to one of his friends.
Dark and Troubled Past (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DarkAndTroubledPast): ... Well what would YOU call it if your government kidnapped and experimented on you? What's that? You don't know about his past? Well, They're Called Personal Issues for a Reason (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ptitle4e67p7jb)
Again, probably lots more but fuck it, I'm tired. Add your own, blah blah blah.

Chronic Hero Syndrome (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChronicHeroSyndrome) Although he complains about it, this is also the reason for the previous trope.
What the Hell Hero (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ptitle0z548336167v?from=Main.WhatTheHellHero) Flynn calls Yuri out on his extrajudicial killings. Yuri calls Flynn on his blind obedience to Alexei.
Back to Back Badasses (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BackToBackBadasses) Yuri and Flynn, when they stop arguing long enough to hit other things instead of each other.
Badass Long Hair (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BadassLongHair) Nuff said.
Even the Guys Want Him (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvenTheGuysWantHim) Probably the hair.
Ship Tease (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ShipTease) Yuri doesn't show a truly invested interest in anyone, really.
Ho Yay (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HoYay) Mostly Flynn.
Foe Yay (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FoeYay) Zagi. The guy's obsessed.
Blade Across the Shoulder (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WeaponAcrossTheShoulder?from=Main.BladeAcrossTheShoulder) Yuri knows very well that swordbelts are not badass.
Blood Knight (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BloodKnight) He really likes fighting.
Deadpan Snarker (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DeadpanSnarker) Almost constantly.
Hero With Bad Publicity (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HeroWithBadPublicity) Yuri's got wanted posters and everything, which bothers him only insomuch that the reward was too low for his liking and when his public image starts going up, he tries to hand it off to Flynn.
Did You Just Punch Out Cthulu (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu) NOT THE FINAL BOSS FIGHT. The final boss fight is convincing the final boss to let the group TRY to do this.
Facing the Bullets One Liner (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FacingTheBulletsOneLiner) Collapsed in the middle of the desert, with a large shadow hovering overhead-- "I hope you choke on my bones".
Fighting Your Friend (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FightingYourFriend) Yuri and Flynn fight a couple of times, although they trust each other enough that they're not actually trying to kill each other. One fight is completely faked until they start arguing over who's going to win, but there's a lucky interruption. Yuri also has to fight a brainwashed Estelle at one point, which was traumatic for everyone involved.
Friendship Moment (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FriendshipMoment) The last Yuri/Flynn fight ends with them both flopped on the grass laughing.
Green Aesop (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GreenAesop) In a fairly realistic manner though, more like humans discovering global warming and trying to figure out what to do with it rather than someone deliberately pumping poison into the air.
Shut Up Hannibal (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ShutUpHannibal) A couple of the villains try to speechify. Yuri doesn't let them.
The Nicknamer (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheNicknamer) Yuri shortens Estelle's name from the much longer version, Judith to Judy, and is responsible for Raven being referred to as "Old Man", although it was also partly Raven's fault. He nicknames a few NPCs as well.
Viewer Gender Confusion (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ViewerGenderConfusion) and Dude Looks Like A Lady (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DudeLooksLikeALady) has a couple of NPCs mistake Yuri for a girl as a tribute to the confusion among the production team...
