Hi!

I'm Kelly, and I'm new here. I'll be playing Katriel, a character from one of my original universes (because I love worldbuilding, I have more than is reasonable).

OOC, I live in London, England, so I'm usually about at odd hours for most non-GMT players. I work in a nursery school with preschool children and love it, drink crazy amounts of tea and spend too much time online. I'm also a SF geek. I met some of you in the chat yesterday, but to those I haven't - hi!

Katriel is an ex-revolutionary who showed up on the station by choice and has strong opinions on just about everything. She's familiar with most future tech but not with anything approaching magic or superpowers, those will seem very strange to her at first. I'm hoping to write an intro post for her today - please do join in if you'd like to meet her!

I haven't yet got her journal fully set up, so in the meantime, if there's something you need to know or an idea you've had for character interaction (and I love those) just drop me a message.

THANK GOD another UK-based player! That's always a thrill. =) Welcome to the game and looking forward to playing with Katriel! This is Hawke, btw; she's a fighter from a medieval society and still very unused to all the tech, so if you want to help her out in that respect she'll appreciate it. =)

Two and a half playthroughs have made me more than a little familiar with Hawke (though not necessarily your Hawke, have to love DA2 for the character complexity!) so I think it's awesome that you're playing her.

Katriel will definitely help her out if she can, once she's done being mostly-clueless newbie. ;)

Someone other than Zevran who'll know who she is? Better and better, hurrah! You can find a general outline of what my Hawke is like/did over here if you're curious (and yep, definitely love the character complexity of the game, so much fun and so replayable).

...actually I keep doing a double-take when I look at your PB, because I played with someone who used the same actress for a Braska Warden. It was awesome. =)

Well, Katriel won't know her IC like Zevran, but I was curious. Your Hawke is actually fairly similar to mine on first playthrough! :)

Heh, Michelle Rodriguez would make an awesome Warden in a DA movie, come to think of it. She's also perfect as Katriel.

Hallo there~! We already met in chat, but for the sake of a proper introduction, I'm Pyraven (or Pyrry, or Pyr, or whatever Su decides my nickname is for the day). I play "Todd" from Stargate Atlantis, who comes with a special set of permissions (http://derigo.livejournal.com/792.html). For added fun, Katriel is free to call him whatever name she wants to, because Wraith names don't translate well into speech.

I've commented on his permissions post - I haven't watched Atlantis (only SG-1) but he sounds really interesting and I think it'll be interesting when Katriel meets him.

On the naming issue - is it that Katriel's translator would give Todd a name based on Katriel's (unconscious) perception of his psychic presence? So, one culturally relevant to her? Or does it work some other way, like it's just the sounds that don't transfer propetly, and 'Todd' is an approximation?

"Todd" is just a name that Col. Sheppard gave to him. It's a running gag in the series that Wraith don't give out their names, so Sheppard invents one for them. Thus there are nigh-immortal life-sucking aliens in SGA with names like Steve or Kenny. The closest approximation to Todd's actual name is Guide, but the odds of him telling anyone that are slim to none.

Likewise, Katriel can just pick whatever name she wants for him, as long as you feel that it's IC for her to do so.

Hi! I'm Mishi and I play Duck from Princess Tutu (on this account) and Edward York, from an obscure Canadian science fiction novel you've probably never heard of.

Duck is a duck who turns into a girl who turns into a magical ballerina princess. (But she can't turn into the magical ballerina princess anymore because I took her post-canon.) I swear the show is better than it sounds.

Edward is hard to explain. He was genetically engineered to be a queen, in the insect sense, of aliens that look a lot like lobsters, which means he has a heightened sense of smell and also pheromones.

Can I be late to the intro party? Can I?

Hi there, I'm Mike. The one character I play here is Mirys Hargrave, an original character that happens to be a FOnewearl (think squishy mage elf girl) taken from Phantasy Star Online, although her own personal history is only loosely-based on the very first part of the game and has very little to do with the game's actual plot as to avoid really tying her to any of the game's actual canon characters.
