Just gonna crosspost this particular teal deer here... [PERMISSIONS]
Anna Lin is the pilot of an ANIMa, a psionic construct that exists in both dreams and the waking world at the same time. An active ANIMa will read as being made out of benevolent spirits or as magical/psionic to anyone with the ability to detect that. Hers looks like the icon, a variable fighter.
She needs to sleep in order to use it, and it requires someone at her ANIMa Creche to watch over her sleeping body and wake her up if something goes wrong. This person is called an Anchor, and also serves as a navigator by relaying sensor information through guided imagery and other hypnotic techniques.
Most importantly, it's made entirely out of love. That's right, love. Each major weapon or subsystem on this sucker is a weaponized dream symbol of someone that Anna is close to. Intimate relationships are more powerful, and trusting ones are more reliable and probably some kind of defensive system.
In general:
Mere recognition is a weapon so weak that Anna won't bother, unless she trusts you enough from your name to make it worthwhile as a defense.
Distant friendships grant civilian weapons.
Close friendships or rivalries grant standard-issue military weapons.
Chaste romance, raw lust, or something that leaves one of you bleeding grant superior military weapons.
Sexual romantic relationships grant cinematic weaponry.
She has the following weapons available to her from her canon:
- The ability to switch between Phoenix (Jet), Dragon (hybrid) and Warrior (walker) forms, from her ex-anchor Meredith at home. Absurdly useful and versatile. And, yes, this is a cinematic weapon, and feel free to point out those implications to her.
- A Chinese repeating crossbow that uses a pair of Tesla coils to fire ferrous bolts of metal at relativistic speeds. This is also an Int 5 weapon, her mother-son bond with Archer Lin, who was named for a god of war Hou Yi, the Archer that shot the Sun.
- A staff with the ability to change it's form to any melee weapon with roughly the same mass, from his protege Joshua Preston.
- A cockpit-mounted laser turret with low stopping power, from co-pilot Sara Smith.
- Unguided cluster flak bombs, from her foul-mouthed ex-gangbanger friend Laura.
So, post here with:
1: Permission for Anna to weaponize her CR with you. A suggestion of a weapon that's appropriately symbolic of the relationships would be appreciated. It can be 'upgraded,' changing form, but a weapon never changes function.
2: Permission for Anna's relationship with you to suffer battle damage. This means that she'll be snappish, bitter and slightly paranoid with you after using a relationship with you in combat, and is basically just an excuse for IC drama. If you allow use of the weapon but disallow the damage, I will narrate that part escaping from battle relatively undamaged.

be nosyencourage her to do something about the new situation. FOR THE REVOLUTION.at least she won't get kissing lessons like poor JintoI like the blue fire idea that was tossed around in chat. Because, as you've written, Intimate relationships are more powerful, and trusting ones are more reliable and probably some kind of defensive system, it makes sense for this to be a defensive system and/or armor. Perhaps an aura/armor/surrounding of blue fire a la Justice (example at 0:23-0:24 here, obvious spoiler for the Legacy DLC if that matters), with the ability to shoot said blue fire as a weapon? I'm thinking of the kind of fire-out-of-hands effect that we see here in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening (the first scene where you encounter Anders, actually - the fire thing is in the first three or four seconds of the clip).

Frankly, given that whole 'life spirit of the Fade' nonsense, the single most appropriate thing the Fires of Justice do should be slowly repairing her systems. Which we handle in CR anyway with Anders being the Bromage, so :V

1) Granted, though I imagine they need to interact and form a bond first. I think they'll get along though (hope so!), both being smart-assed fighter types with a dry sense of humor.
2) Granted again.

Moreover, given the explanation, Lafiel will probably insist on spending some of her off-duty time with Anna to maintain/strengthen their relationship. Lafiel is... well, not the best at social skills, so it may be unintentionally hilarious. And probably good of her to make friends (who are not Jinto).
(Also, if Anna meets Ai or Georgia, also granted.)

As for trying to make a friend for the sake of maximum
hilarityefficiency, yes. Yes. Let us have the going out to chat with an awkward Weeabhoo in tow.no subject

1: Permission for Anna to weaponize her CR with you. Oh yes... May I recommend thematically some kind of badass stealth cloak for Gaunt? He's the commander of a regiment of irish/scottish space ninjas. (I love you Dan Abnett)
2: Permission for Anna's relationship with you to suffer battle damage.
Oh yes. gaunt dealing with angry psychics. Always fun.

Jinnto: Additional fuel/ammo tanks, less chance of an ammo explosion (like CASE in Battletech) and a more efficient, better organized cockpit. Yes, he's boring sometimes.
Sheeana: Some kindof acoustic weapon? A crysknife?
Sah'ot: Full underwater movement system with inbuilt sonar. And, I dunno, maybe a dildo or some dirty magazines in the cockpit.
Therru: Additional, extremely ugly armor along the right side, from the cockpit down to the hand. Bonus to all stats in dragon mode.

Sheeana: For maximum hilarity, and the fact that he speaks with authority even when not the emperor, the sonic weapon is reserved for Martin because who doesn't want a mech that can FUS! ROH! DAH!?
That said, a Dune-style duelist shield or crysknife seems right. Er... okay, a duelist shield that does not nuke you when you're hit with a laser, it just fails.
Sah'ot: Water-movement turbines and a sensor prong in an EXTREMELY unfortunate location.
Therru: :|a I honestly think it should just be additional stability and speed in Dragon mode, with ugly spiked armor in all forms.

Sheeana: By her canon point Holtzman shields are no longer in common use. How about a crysknife and strengthened myomer fibers/actuators, granting a bonus in physical combat?
Sah'ot: Perfect.
Therru: that works.
