So recently Sheeana's babel fish teleported out of her ear, taking a good chunk of her inner ear with it while in a Spice/Force trance meditation thing. What if reintroducing Sheeana's babel fish into the main pool caused it to teach the other ones how to use the force, making them unusable? Then the station had to order a shipment of machine translators from the skirineen, putting them into debt?

It would make a nice segue into the convention planet plot where they have to earn money by promoting the propaganda show. Also there could be a big kerfluffle over reliance on machines.

Works for me. My only concern would be making sure people with new characters don't end up without some kind of translator since I assume the babel fish only work one-way. (So everyone could understand the new people, but they can only understand those who can speak a language they know.)

It's a bit late for me to say anything now since you've already gone and made the IC post for it, but aren't we already drowning in plotty things as it is?

They're not on a MUST DO THEM NOW schedule. I intend to space everything out so there's about 1 week of mission/event per five weeks of general playing time, with smaller events (really more like the snafus of ordinary life aboard a falling apart space station) occurring about once every three weeks.
