Kind of a sort of an Edward

Hi guys. It's Mishi, your friendly neighborhood Duck-mun here with a new character. Meet Edward.

No, not Cullen, or Elric. This is Edward York, from a little science fiction book called Hunted, the third volume of the League of Peoples series by James Alan Gardner.

Basically, he was genetically engineered to be king of a species of lobster-like aliens called mandasars, but sshhh, it's Lord Protector when he's around. (Or would be, if he hadn't been yoinked from before he could become Lord Protector.) His enhancements include being ridiculously good-looking, being strong and sturdy enough to push a truck going in the opposite direction, being able to smell your soul (kind of), and pheromones. Only he doesn't have perfect control of the pheromones.

That's pretty awesome-sounding. I'll have to look for that book. Is he a werelobster, or just very good-smelling to lobsters?
