Holidays are supposed to make people happy, right? Well, holidays for you sucked. You didn't get to see your family or maybe you have no family at all. If you're a villain, maybe another year has gone by and you still haven't taken over the world. If you're a hero, maybe you're a B-lister who still doesn't have his own action figure. Last night you felt incredibly lonely and pathetic and sad, so you hit the bar. Hard.

Well honey, the bar hit back. You wake up in a cheap motel bed and you're not alone.

Sleep is one of the few times Kai actually looks serene, and judging by the state of his side of the bed... he really doesn't move very much in his sleep. His partner...? Who knows?

Only a little bit, but when his breath tickles her neck, she's awake in a flash, blade in hand. Nothing personal, it's just a reflex.

It doesn't even wake him, which should be a testament to how much or how strong whatever it was he'd drunk last night was. He could be dead and wouldn't even know it... but then, he's already admitted to suicidal tendencies, right?

"Kai..." Akakias suddenly feels extremely happy and moves in to wrap herself around him like a tortilla around rice and beans.

That's... definitely not what he was expecting. So much time he'd spent alone, so her warmth that close to him does finally start to wake him.

".... mmn..?" Just one eye cracking open, he shifts slightly, waiting for his vision to clear a bit more. "... Akakias...?" At least... he hopes so. If it's someone else he'll be, at best, mildly embarrassed.

"Of course it's me..." She says, joyfully nuzzling into his neck.

"... Good point." Chuckling, he tilts his head, actually kind of... relishing the hangover. It's not so bad that his head is pounding, even though he can't remember much of last night. Part of him wants to ask - being unable to remember his own memories is even stranger than hearing others' - but at the same time... it doesn't really matter. "How are you feeling? Not too hung-over, I hope...?"

"I feel like Zeus about to give birth to Athena." She giggled at the blasphemy. Somehow she seemed to not be at all dismayed by it though. The pain in her head was drowned out by the fuzzy happiness that seemed to envelop her.
