Evil!Lain mini-event info

Hello all, Sera here with some info on our next event. As you may remember from the poll, this involves Lain's powers activating and merging with the holodeck. Thus raising the collective unconscious of everyone on the station to the conscious level, while at the time using the holodeck to project everyone's, thoughts, memories, and other such things as holograms. There will be a anonymous text post over the net work from Evil!Lain with her thoughts on the matters and another on the main com for everything else.

Also, Lain's evil self will be trolling the hell out of everyone on the station with her usual style of information mongering and mocking. Feel free to post here if you have any questions, want to plot stuff, or have any secrets you'd like Evil!Lain to spill all over the network.

zevran killed the only woman he's ever loved in cold blood while she begged him to believe her that she was innocent of betraying the crows and that she loved him.

While it's not exactly a secret, Todd's been trying not to draw too much attention to the fact that he and his men are all life-draining predators that tend to think of humans as cattle. It's the sort of thing that could cause a lot of people to become... upset.

Sheeana:

Canon: Hoo boy. At age nine, the same worms she's bonded to destroyed and ate her village, a topic about which she still angsts and has nightmares about. From then to age 11, she was the Holy Child of the Priests of the Divided God, on Dune, where she became a complete spoiled brat. Anyone who spoke out against her was summarily tortured and/or executed. She has a crush on (ghola!)Duncan Idaho, who's also her distant (fifteen hundred years) ancestor. She's knowingly exploited the religious adulation of hundreds of millions. She's actually a runaway from the main Bene Gesserit branch, after it was taken over by Duncan's lover. Then there's the Miles Teg Incident, which is too gross even for voyeur!Lain. Is addicted to Spice, which is not really a shame so much as a weakness she doesn't want to spread around.

In game: Is knowingly making as much of the station as dependant on her as possible so that if the Resistance turns into another jihad, she can sabotage everything by running away again. Intensely jealous of Obi Wan Kenobi for talking to the worms. Wants to bring Gaunt down a peg or two. Has been making it with Motoko, which she's subconsciously ashamed of because of her universe's prejudice against cyborgs/AIs.

Sah'ot:

Canon: Refused to board the scout boat when investigating a wrecked fleet, meaning Streaker lost a valuable officer instead of him. Sexually harrassed one of his coworkers. Actually rather cowardly, except in regards to his 'pups'.

In game: Has twice atavised (reverted to an animal state). Went looking for porno in the holodeck and got stuck in the video for Money For Nothing by The Dire Straights instead. Has fantasized about most of the attractive adult women on the station. Is pretty much making up his faux-dad persona as he goes along, informed heavily by his dealings with primitive species. His best Trinary poems are all filthy as hell.

Jinto:

Canon: Dad sold his home planet out to the Abh when he was a kid, which elevated him to nobility. Even though it was the better choice, he still subconsciously feels like a traitor because of it. Has strong feelings for Lafiel but feels he can't burden her with them because of the difference in their lifespans. Briefly had an Abh girlfriend while in technical officer school, while he and Lafiel were seperated for 3 years. Wants nothing more than to eat a huge, juicy cheeseburger (a secret due to the high number of hippies on board).

In Game: Besides thinking that most people on board are kindof out of their minds, nothing yet!

I really miss my edit button.

He also keeps a few (3-4) humans in stasis in the BSL Sector 2 Wraith Facility, so that there's extra food on hand. Y'know, in case anyone ICly wants solid proof.

Let's see...

Katriel's revolution started with her making pretty speeches about colonists' rights and living up to ideals. It ended with her training child soldiers, setting fire to badly-needed crops, and being responsible for the deaths of people she cared about as well as plenty of civilians on the other side.

She'll defend it with 'I did what I had to' but doesn't really want all the hippies on the station knowing about it. Also, her side lost anyway.

Livvi - can heal people with something that may or not be magic. Not a dark secret, but very much a secret. She'll be frightened if it's revealed because she'll expect the station authorities to send her away to an institution of one sort or another.

Tavros isn't a big one for secrets, but anything in his past that's really unpleasant is enough to upset him. The biggest things are:

-He was paralysed when the person he was playing a game with got sick of him running away (even though he had good reasons to run). She psychically hijacked his brain and jumped him off of a cliff. (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004074)

-She later picked him up and kissed him, and he just hung there like a lump being terrified instead of responding in any real way. (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004280) He's not really proud of that panicky, cowardly moment.

-Aaand later they became friends, which was great until the robot who used to be Tavros's closest friend (back when she was a normal, living troll. it's complicated!) beat the girl almost to death. Vriska asked Tavros to finish her off (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=005013) so she didn't have to die painfully, but he was too afraid and traumatised to do it (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=005026). Possibly the worst moment in his entire life.

-There's also the fact that, as a paraplegic, odds are low that Tavros would survive to adulthood back home. There's no way that he didn't know that, and that it didn't haunt him.

-He's also a pretty terrible example of his species. In the eyes of troll culture, a person as kind and harmless as Tavros is an enormous failure.

In game:
-He's secretly putting together a menagerie of animals from all over. They are his dear friends and he's keeping them secret because he doesn't know if he'd get in trouble for having them.

That's mostly it! If there are any questions or you want to know more about anything, just let me know.

Not secrets per se but certainly stuff she dosn't want to talk or think about. Let's see, what are the real beauties...(spoilers for Dragon Age 2 below for those who care). Sorry, this takes some explanation.

1) Hawke's mother was kidnapped by a serial killer blood mage who murdered women in order to take various body parts and assemble them Frankenstein-style into a replica of his long-dead wife. Her mother provided the head. It looked like this towards the end. Yes, that is a wedding dress. Yes, she died in Hawke's arms after Hawke killed the mage. The game goes for maximum angst, clearly! (Halloween's coming, clearly we need a zombie in a wedding dress somewhere in this plot! *grin*)

2) Hawke's lover, Anders, asked her to distract the Grand Cleric of their country's church; she agreed, reluctantly and after some emotional blackmail along the lines of "Do this if you love me." Turns out the reason why was so he could plant a bomb and destroy the Chantry (and much of the surrounding neighborhood), killing a large number of innocents and starting a war. Hawke, needless to say, feels rather responsible. She was then put in the position of being his executioner, but couldn't bring herself to do it (despite everyone, including Anders himself {who wanted to be martyred} expecting it) and let him live despite what he'd done.

3) Hawke defined herself by protecting her loved ones, and in her view failed each of them in turn. Her brother and mother died before her eyes, her sister was imprisoned (more complicated but leave it at that), her lover betrayed her. Similarly she had a duty to protect her city as its Champion, and failed that too thanks to Anders and his war. So, failed at everything. Not exactly suicidal as she's habitually incapable of giving up but sometimes thinks death would be a relief. Taunting her with this could yield interesting results.

...sorry that was so long. She hasn't got any in-game secrets.

some tidbits about my folks

[personal profile] deep_sky_diving 2011-10-28 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Roxie:

  • Has killed a lot of people to death in nasty, brutal ways, under circumstances that are questionable at best. (The presumed murderer is known in the press under multiple nicknames, including "the Chicago Butcher".)
  • Has used hallucinogenic drugs for repeated mystical inspiration.
  • Has invented a lot of shit to do with her own practices and metaphysical stuff that comes right out of said mystical inspiration.
  • Was kind of a little psycho arsonist when younger.
  • Deeply insecure in ways she would never admit to anyone.

Tess:

  • Comes from a family that's actually rich as hell, despite her relatively humble manner.
  • Has seriously injured people in the name of good fun, as well as caused major societal disruptions more than once.
  • Has seen a close friend die by pure chance.
  • Not nearly as sexually comfortable as she acts like.
  • Casually mentally discriminates against unaugmented people, though it's not obvious.

Secrets!

[personal profile] truthaftertheend 2011-10-29 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Georgia was having a sexual/romantic relationship with her (adopted) brother. Also, she's seriously codependent on him, and only the fact he's back home is keeping her from contemplating suicide. She's pretty open about the whole zombie thing. But in general, Georgia's personal life is none of your business, to the point where we don't find out that secret until her brother narrates the second book: George = unreliable narrator when it comes to her personal life.

At one point, Ai did a survival hike across the Moon with Clare, a suicidal, wounded friend who was also a terrorist that tried to kill her, her now-husband, and EVERYONE ON THE MOON. Ai ran out of oxygen first due to carrying her friend and nearly died before Clare managed to signal for help. Clare told Ai to take Clare's oxygen, since Ai deserved it more and was able to walk while Clare couldn't. Ai refused, knowing she'd die... but she was tempted, and Ai is sweet enough to feel guilty by this.

Ai seriously questions what she's gotten involved in, and if they are any better than terrorists, rather than peaceful people working for change. Ai also misses her husband. A lot.

In canon, the series ended with Ai and the Hoshinos' dropping strong hints Ai was pregnant. I decided it was a false positive, so that Ai could come here sans guilt and sans infant. But, if you want to piss her off, you can imply that somehow this is her fault for being an astronaut and possibly mucking up her biology.

Lafiel has general worries about the state of the Empire in general. And that she doesn't think the Fay'lia are so bad, besides that they would put the same controls on the Abh that the Abh have been putting on... well, every pre-spaceflight planet that they have come across. Actually, the Abh and the Fay'lia aren't that different, and Lafiel has decided to leave out that bit of information.

Lafiel also has a Thing for Jinto (as he mentioned), but worries about Jinto's short lifespan, having an affair with a junior officer, and the fact that any involvement with her will drag Jinto into Even More Politics.

The dish on Duck and Edward (duck and lobster are pretty tasty)

[identity profile] poorduck.livejournal.com 2011-10-29 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
DUCK is pretty blameless.

- Her being a duck is not a secret anymore, but she still doesn't like it advertised. (And she doesn't want Mr. Cat to know for obvious reasons.)
- Her dream is still to become a Prima Ballerina one day, even though she's still kind of terrible at ballet.
- She's currently feeling kind of abandonned. In the aftermath of her canon, Mytho and Rue have ridden off into the sunset, and no one remembers that Duck was ever a girl but Fakir, who promised to stick with her even now that she was a regular duck. She knows that it's not anyone's fault, but it still doesn't stop her from feeling alone.

EDWARD is mostly also blameless but there's too much more to work with

- Let's start with the fact that Edward was created as a guinea pig to test out the queenmaking process before they moved on to his sister, Sam. TL;DR EVEN BEFORE HE WAS A ZYGOTE HE WAS MEANT TO BE USED AND DISCARDED.

- Because he was only meant as a test subject they didn't want him getting in Sam's way, so he was deliberately designed to be stupid. This didn't stop his father from treating him like a leper. His father's pet name for him was "Jetsam" because he said Edward would be the first thing he'd throw out an airlock if they needed to get rid of dead weight. TL;DR EDWARD'S FATHER IS A DICK WHO PUNISHED HIM FOR BEING STUPID EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SAID DICK'S OWN FAULT.

-Sam loved him and taught him to be brave and honest and loyal and good and she basically raised him, so he loved her (but not like that). But then it turned out she was at least as much of a dick as their father AND she'd been incestuous with his clone-that-had-his-father's-mind-in-it. (Long story.) And then he had to kill her. And as she was dying she kissed him. TL;DR EDWARD'S RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS SISTER USED TO BE PEACHY BUT NOW IT'S FUCKED UP.

- The first clue Edward of his family's plot was when he initially got smart and queenly a good 20 years before the start of the story, at the beginning of the civil war. He realized Sam was up to no good, but he repressed those memories and his powers because he didn't want to believe the person most important to him who loved him and cared for him and everything could do something so despicable. Then the High Queen was killed and he had to smuggle his step-daughter, the princess Innocence somewhere he couldn't follow, and then he was evacuated to a base on Troyen's moon. TL;DR THAT'S 20 YEARS OF GUILT OVER THE DEATH OF HIS WIFE, NOT BEING ABLE TO BE THERE FOR HIS STEP-DAUGHTER, PLUS THE REPRESSED GUILT OF KNOWING HIS SISTER WAS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CURRENT SITUATION.

- This repression of his powers, intellect and memories of his sister's betrayal came out in the persona of Smart Edward when events at the beginning of the novel triggered their return. Smart Edward is an arrogant son of a bitch who is smart and charismatic and devious and basically is a king. And knows exactly how to use lolpheromones. It was stated that Edward and Smart Edward would eventually reintegrate as Edward took on the responsibility of being a leader of Mandasars, but this did not take place because Edward doesn't LIKE Smart Edward and doesn't want to be devious and arrogant. TL;DR EDWARD HAS A (NOT REALLY EVIL BUT KINDA ASSHOLISH) ALTERNATE PERSONALITY THAT HE IS KIND OF AFRAID OF.

- Smart Edward is a secret. Edward really doesn't want anyone thinking he's crazy and he definitely doesn't want Smart Edward to integrate and doesn't want anyone seeing that side of him. Similarly, the lolpheromones are not exactly a secret but not something he wants to advertise. TL;DR EDWARD DOESN'T WANT ANYONE TO KNOW ABOUT SMART EDWARD OR HIS PHEROMONES.
